THE LORD MAYOR'S SHOW

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

The National programme will be interrupted between 12.25 and 1.15 for a description of the Lord Mayor's
Procession by John Snagge from the Mansion House
As soon as the head of the Lord Mayor's procession passes the Mansion House the programme will be interrupted for listeners to hear a commentary. John Snagge , who will be on the roof of the Mansion House in the heart of the City, with the Royal Exchange on his right and the Bank of England opposite, will give an account of the pageantry moving beneath him. The procession with its theme of Empire trade, will already have passed through the Lord Mayor's Ward, Cripplegate, and be on the way to the Law Courts for the Lord Mayor to be sworn in and to assume his unique privileges. It is of interest to know that on the way back the procession will be televised.
