St. Simeon Stylites

on BBC Television

View in Radio Times

A play in one act by F. Sladen Smith.
Scene: The top of the column-in the desert-outside Antioch
(Repeat Performance)

Nowadays St. Simeon would be a champion American Tree-Sitter, but living in the East as he did many centuries ago, he was regarded as very religious, and he sat on the top of a column for an immense period. 'Stylites' means-in effect -'up the pole'.
