The programme will be introduced by the chimes from the Union Buildings at Pretoria, and will end with the National song ' Die Stem van Suid Afrika ' and ' God Save the King' Among those taking part will be the Hon. P. G. W. Grobler , Minister of Native Affairs; Captain A. Anderson , the last survivor of the Natal Pioneers ; and Mr. George Honeyball, one of the discoverers of the Great Main Reef of the Witwatersrand in 1886 The first of a series of Empire Day Programmes was broadcast from the United Kingdom in 1933. under the title ' News of Home '.
