The first round is over, and tonight's second-round matchs are in progress. If the form book is any guide then ALEX HIGGINS , the holder, should be celebrating his second win in this Championship. But many Champions have found survival difficult in The Crucible. Ask STEVE DAVIS , TERRY GRIFFITHS , JOHN SPENCER ; all three did not survive even to this stage when they were Champions!
