The Saving of a Country House
In 30 years England, Wales and Scotland have lost more than 340 notable buildings - their contents dispersed. Erddig, near Wrexham, long the home of the Yorke family, seemed set to become another name on the long list of destruction; yet tomorrow, the Prince of Wales will officially open Erddig, restored.
Tonight, four years of dedicated restoration, costing around one million pounds, are traced in this record of the most exacting repair operation ever tackled by the National Trust. Narrator
