Ever since the Wall Street crash the Securities and Exchange Commission - SEC - have been the 'Cops' of American Capitalism, policing company law and seeking out fraud across the United States. Today, growing disquiet in Britain over the 'unacceptable face of Capitalism' makes a reform of British company law along American lines an increasing possibility.
