The opening morning in the most prestigious of all golf tournaments. The first Open to be held in England was staged here 99 years ago - previously it had always taken place in Scotland - and J H Taylor suitably became the first
English professional to take the trophy. Sandy Lyle was the most recent winner on this course eight years ago. With commentary by Peter Alliss , Bruce Critchley , Alex Hay , Dave Marr , Clive Clark , Mike Hughesdon and Dougie Donnelly.
