The Swagger Portrait

on BBC Two England

The golden age of British society portraits, from
Van Dyck to Augustus John , is the subject of an exhibition at the Tate Gallery in London. News presenter Martyn Lewis , novelist Jeffrey Archer and male striptease team the Chippendales are among those who reflect on what the pictures tell us about the sitters and the time they lived in. This is a compilation of short films shown between programmes in October.
