Frank Delaney

on BBC Two England

ALDOUS HUXLEY wrote: That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons that history has to teach.
Frank Delaney talks to three historians who give very different lessons. They are Raymond Wil liams, political and cultural analyst and novelist, whose ideas have influenced two generations since the publication of Culture and Society 1780-1950; Christopher Andrew , modern historian and expert on British Intelligence and French Imperialism; and John Keegan , whose highly acclaimed The Face of Battle altered the traditional approach to military history.
