Hazal lives in a remote village in Eastern Anatolia where all the land is owned by the Aga and the Priest's word is law. Circumstances, and the Aga's decree, force her into marriage with 11-year-old Omer and a life of humiliation by his doting mother. When men come from the city to build a road through the village, Hazal sees a chance to escape - with Emin, the man she has always loved.
