When he decides to break up his sister's romance with a young jazz musician, his hatchet man is Sidney Falco , a scheming press agent hungry for success and willing to go to any extreme to get items into Hunsecker's column. Ex-Ealing director Alexander Mackendrick brilliantly created this slice of Broadway life.
