Hugh Tracey, a Devon-born South African who is a world authority on African music, lives on a small farm near Johannesburg. This film gives an impression of his life there and of his relations with his African employees. It raises the question of what he really thinks of them, and whether his opinions differ from those held by the majority of white South African.
