Mudra-Afrique

on BBC Two England

Together with world-famous choreographer Maurice Bejart, President Senghor of Senegal envisaged a school where young Africans would learn the skills of classical ballet and modern dance. So in 1977, Mudra-Afrique was established to train dancers capable of blending the elements of ethnic tradition into a new idiom of African culture. Even when times are hard, Mudra-Afrique is regarded as a natural resource-to be developed and cherished. Narrated by James Hogg. Produced by ANDRÉ
WAKSMAN Wrltten and directed by GUDIE LAWAETZ
