Steve Rider reports from Cheltenham racecourse on the start of the RAC Rally, where 160 competitors will begin the first of today's 11 stages. The event doubles as the decider forthe world championship, with Britain's Colin McRae needing a victory to regain the title from the current champion, Tommi Makinen of Finland.
