Piers Lane introduces piano pyrotechnics from the likes of Josef Hofmann and Gyorgy Cziffra. The programme also includes a tribute to the great turn-of-the-century pianist Leopold Godowsky, including a recording of some of his fiendishly difficult Studies after Chopin, specially recorded by Marc-Andre Hamelin.
