Grand Prix

on BBC Two England

The 1987 Formula One World Championship Detroit Grand Prix
This bumpy street circuit in the 'auto capital of the world' puts man and machine under severe pressure.
There have been five races held here, won by five different drivers and five different cars. Winner last year was AYRTON SENNA who swept to victory three weeks ago at Monaco, another street circuit.
If the 'active suspension' on his Lotus works well again he will have an enormous advantage on the rough road surface; if not watch out for NIGEL MANSELL , who loves this kind of circuit and led so convincingly at Monaco until his turbo failed. Commentators MURRAY WALKER
