A political comedy, set some time in the future, with the British Government under severe pressure to solve its economic problems. A wily civil servant decides that the only answer is to stop printing money and devise a new system of barter - but he falls foul of his own measures.... It's getting very difficult. I tried to offer my services as washer-up to pay for my lunch, and the manager said he didn't use the professional classes - the breakages were too high.'
