On the eve of the premiere of his latest picture, Byron Orlok, celebrated star of horror films, announces his retirement. Meanwhile, Bobby Thompson, an apparently normal young man, goes berserk, murders his wife and mother and, armed with an arsenal of guns and ammunition, takes up a position on top of a gas-tank.
