'Pig Clubs in 1941' by Cedric Drewe , M.P.
The backyard talk this week, unavoidably postponed from last week, will be about that popular subject, small pig clubs. And who better to talk about them than Cedric Drewe , M.P., who is not only Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture, but Chairman of the Small Pig Keepers' Council ? He is a whole-hearted enthusiast for the pig in the backyard, and is himself no mean farmer. He has farmed in Devon all his life-a mixed farm, with a herd of Devon cattle. On September 11 this year he opened the London Zoo Pig-Club—one of the many examples of what can be done under the greatest difficulties.
