Since its creation in 1974, the English National Opera has set new standards for imagination, intelligence and flair in British opera Production. Performing in English they have brought favourite works and fascinating novelties to a wider audience than ever before. This is the first of three workshop
Programmes looking behind the surface of three great repertoire works with a cast of singers new to their roles under the guidance of David Pountney , Director of Productions and Mark Elder , the Music Director at the ENO.
Here they work on one of the central moments in the first act of Mozart's passionate and disturbing comic opera, Don Giovanni , with the Don in pursuit of one young woman, himself pursued by two others.
