The brass section produced the first Young Musician
Michael Hext , and the most recent, David Pyatt. Tonight, trumpets, trombones, tubas, horns and a euphonium, playing music from baroque to blues in tonight's semi-final, will produce five finalists.
The jury comprises cornetist Elaine Williams , hom player Frank Lloyd , trombonist Andrew Berryman and composers Alun Hoddinott and Edward Gregson. Introduced by Humphrey Burton and Mervyn Williams. Director Ron Isted
