A series examining six major scientific quests of the century. Frank Drake, who, in 1960, carried out the first cosmic search for alien life, is one of those discussing their quest to prove the existence of extra-terrestrial intelligence.
He is joined by Star Trek alien designer Michael Westmore, and astronomer Jill Tartar, who inspired Jodie Foster's character in the film Contact.
