Kenya's 300-mile coastline tends to get overlooked in a country whose main attraction is 'big game.' But, offshore the warm waters of the Indian Ocean have encouraged the growth of a fringing coral reef of great beauty. Nowadays the traditional safari is turning seawards in snorkels, aqualungs and glass - bottomed boats and problems are arising of organising and maintaining the newly established Marine Reserves. A team of scientists from the University College of North Wales recently visited Malindi and Watamu to assist with the development project.
