Court TV: The Case of George Loeb

on BBC Two England

Sixth in a nine-part series taking a look inside America's courtrooms.

George Loeb Junior shot and killed Harold Mansfield in a heated argument in a supermarket parking lot. Loeb claimed it was self defence, but the prosecutor said it was first-degree murder. But something marked this case out as different from the average trial: George Loeb was a white supremacist, and the man he killed was black. The jury in this trial had to decide whether someone's racist views could add up to a motive for murder? Presented by Sue Ellicott.
