Festival 77: 1976: Multi-Coloured Swap Shop

on BBC Two England

Introduced by Rene Cutforth
A programme from the BBCtv Archives for each of the past 25 years

A live, unrehearsed Saturday morning swap with Noel Edmonds

Since it was first announced that Swap Shop would swap anything for anything (provided it wasn't alive!) phone lines were jammed from 9.30 until midday when children from all over Britain chatted with Noel and his guests, met Keith Chegwin the Roving Swapman, and joined in John Craven's News Swap.

This is a condensed version of a programme first transmitted on 4 December 1976, and includes, amongst others Frank Windsor and Norman Bowler with Swap of the Cops, John Christie and The Electric Light Orchestra in Swap of the Pops and Star Swap with World Champion James Hunt.
