Composer of the Week: Duke Ellington

With Geoffrey Smith. In the last decade of his life, Duke Ellington created musical impressions of the Far East and New Orleans, as well as a full-length ballet, The River. But his main focus was religious music, in three concerts of sacred works. The last was presented at Westminster Abbey, only a few months before his death in 1974.
