Starring Vlastimil Brodsky
The second of six films in our summer selection comes from Czechoslovakia. It is a delightful blend of realism and silent comedy conventions and brings a freshness to this hilarious comedy about a man who cannot say no to women.
The man in question is played by Vlastimil Brodsky, star of Jiri Menzel's Closely Observed Trains. His dead-pan earnestness bears a marked resemblance to that of Buster Keaton.
