Excalibur - the Search for Arthur: Holy Grail and Unholy Power

on BBC Two England

Concluding the two-part drama documentary on the making of a myth.

Professor Gwyn Williams traces the development of the Arthurian legend through the ages, from the attempt by French monks to rid the Grail story of its pagan origins, to the poet Tennyson's version in Victorian times and Monty Python's in the present day, showing how each generation has retold the story of Arthur to suit its own values and attitudes.
