An American research project, begun ten years ago in the state of Tennessee, indicates that smaller primary class sizes are beneficial to learning. Kath Bates, an experienced teacher at Castlechurch Primary School in Stafford, puts these findings to the test, teaching just half her class over a few weeks in order to see if class size can make a difference.
