from Wrenthorpe, Wakefield with Geoff Hamilton and Clay Jones
When Len Lindley converted two terraced cottages and their small gardens into one in 1970, he was faced with the problem of bringing the land into control fairly quickly. By initially laying a lawn larger than he would eventually need, he has been able to develop a garden at his own pace. Now the front garden is landscaped, and is full of all-the-year-round colour provided by trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants.
Until recently the back garden had remained mainly lawn.
Now, however, he has started landscaping it and is in the process of building and planting up a scree bed. It has taken several months to complete and a photographic record describes the steps.
