A farce by Roland and Michael Pertwee.
[Starring] William Mervyn, David Stoll and Ursula Howells
The flat actually belongs to the Rt. Hon. Oliver Doyle, M.P., Minister for Trading Relations, but (this being a brisk Pertwee farce) he seldom has a moment in sole possession. Across the corridor lives Sir Dudley Stretfield, M.P., still one of Doyle's oldest and best friends, despite the fact that he sits on the Opposition benches. Stretfield is always in and out of the flat, and so is his pretty niece, Jean. The reason for her visits is the Minister's son, Squadron-Leader John Doyle. John is also the cause of a visit from Rose Mortimer, the pretty, young wife of the Inspector-General of Customs and Excise, who comes to see him about a most delicate matter. Which, of course, leads soon to visits from Montague Mortimer himself, who also happens to be one of the Minister's schoolday friends. Does this sound a trifle complicated? Be assured that it is a mere beginning of complications... (Peter Currie)
