THE ZYGFRYD POLISH OCTET

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

Zygfryd, born at Ostrowiec, in Poland, has formed this ensemble specially for broadcasting. A Guildhall School of Music student (he came to England when he was eight years old), Zygfryd, in his teens, played his violin, both at the Carlton and the Savoy, and, when barely twenty, became musical director of the Pavilion, Maidstone. He wants the British public to get to know Polish music, which is not often played over here.
