During term time the BBC provides a wide range of television programmes to Schools of all types. Today there is an opportunity to see two secondary school programmes.

12.15 Science and Life: New Materials
A series designed to show the application of science and technology to everyday life.
A programme about long chain molecules and the making and shaping of plastics.
Introduced by Arthur Garratt.

12.35 Going to Work: Clerical and Secretarial Work
A series on careers for school leavers.
Introduced by Peter West.
Nearly 100,000 girls go into some kind of clerical or secretarial work each year. The School Film Unit visits Aberdeen to look at the office jobs that some school leavers find and to discover what they can aim for when they are older.
