After Chernobyl - Our Nuclear Future?

on BBC One London

Presented by Frank Bough A special investigation into the risks of the nuclear agenda with live reports and interviews from the United States, Europe and Britain. The terrifying events at Chernobyl raised major questions about the use of nuclear power all over the world. Here in Britain the Government is poised to make vital decisions about our nuclear future.
Nuclear power offers the prospect of cheap, virtually unlimited energy, but can it ever be made safe enough to justify its use? And if things go wrong how serious could the consequences be for you and your family?
Tonight, this special programme assesses the dangers and benefits of nuclear energy.
Viewers have the chance to phone in and put their queries and concerns to the experts and to the politicians who will have to decide on our nuclear future. Editor PHILIP HARDING
