Edward G. Robinson in The Whole Town's Talking

on BBC Two England

continues the season of films starring Hollywood's famous tough guy. Tonight with Jean Arthur
Edward G. gives a splendid dual performance in this witty thriller directed by the great John Ford. He plays both Arthur Jones , a timid clerk, and his double, Killer Mannion. Arrested in error when Mannion escapes from jail, Jones is issued with a special pass to protect him from re-arrest. But Mannion, quick to exploit the confusion, tries to take over both the pass and his double's identity.
