Tonight's ballet marks the end of one era and the start of another. It was the last work Stravinsky composed for Diaghilev and the first time that he collaborated with the choreographer GEORGE BALANCHINE. The programme, made in 1967 by North German Television, includes scenes showing Stravinsky and Balanchine recreating their masterpiece for a television performance by leading dancers of Balanchine's
