The African Queen

on BBC Television

John Huston's famous film.
Starring Katharine Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart

It seems at first as if the missionary's prim sister and the down-to-earth engineer-owner of the old river steamer African Queen can have very little in common. But in the course of the long and hazardous journey they are forced to make together down the river to escape the Germans, each comes not only to respect the other but to find a much closer and warmer human relationship.
