Live action from Manchester on the first full evening of competition in the 17th Commonwealth Games. Introduced by Sue Barker and Sharron Davies , with expertise from Michael Johnson and Roger Black.

6.05 Synchronised Swimming The first gold medal of the day will be decided in the solo synchronised swimming event at the Manchester Aquatics Centre. Commentary is by Matt Chilton and Andrea Holland.
6.25-9.55 Athletics
6.35 The second round of the men's 100m begins the track and field coverage. The weight of expectation lies with England's Dwain Chambers, the British European
Cup captain and recent two-times victor over world-record holder Maurice Greene.
7.10 The women's hammer competition features England's Lorraine Shaw , who ranked ninth in the Sydney Olympics. At the same time the second round of the men's 400m will be taking place, in which the highly fancied Daniel Caines will be representing England.
7.45 The first round of the women's 400m, with Jamaica's Lorraine Fenton the favourite.
7.50 Jonathan Edwards of England commences his bid for an elusive Commonwealth gold to add to his collection in the qualifying round of the men's triple jump.
8.35 Olympic and World Championship silver medallist Paul Tergat of Kenya is the star attraction in the men's 10,000m final.
9.15 The heptathlon 200m event rounds off the evening's track and field. Commentary on the athletics events is from Steve Cram , Stuart Storey , Paul Dickenson , Brendan Foster , Sally Gunnell and John Regis.
9.55 Gymnastics England's men's team look to defend the gold medal they took home in 1998. Commentary by Barry Davies , Mitch Fenner and Christine Still.
