The Pigeon Goes to War

on BBC Home Service Basic

View in Radio Times

Major W.H. Osman
Major Osman, unrivalled in his knowledge of the value of the homing pigeon in wartime (see 'This Week's Radio Miscellany' on page 7), will say something about its services in the Great War. He will also explain to breeders the existing wartime regulations as to permits for keeping pigeons, and permits for racing them - two different things; and he will advise them generally about carrying on in wartime, and stress the need to do so, for, if the war goes on, young birds will be wanted to recruit the Service lofts.
