1/3. Ruth Goodman, Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn return to rural Shropshire to celebrate a traditional Victorian Christmas. But before the festivities can begin, chores must be attended to.
Firstly there's the hay to harvest, to make fodder for the animals to eat over winter. Peter then travels to the Royal Agricultural Society's show with sheep expert Richard Spencer to choose a new ram for the flock, while Ruth prepares the ingredients for the mince pies.
