Defending champion Jack Nicklaus
The second event of World Golf's 'Grand Slam' was staged last weekend at Oakmont Country Club, Philadelphia.
This 72-hole stroke-play classic was contested by all the great stars of the American circuit and many overseas players, including Great Britain's Tony Jacklin who, in 1971, made golfing history by being the first Briton to win this coveted title for 50 years, and only one of the very few non-Americans to achieve this singular honour since the championship commenced in 1894. Highlights of the final round of this great sporting event are introduced by Peter Alliss and Harry Carpenter.
Presented by Alan Mouncer in association with the American Broadcasting Company
