Humphrey Burton presents highlights of the second heat of the Song Prize, which took place last night in the New Theatre,
Cardiff, and lain Burnside brings the latest news from the opera competition. The competitors forthe recital prize are
Markus Werba (baritone - from Austria) with Phillip Thomas (piano),
Nino Surguladze (mezzo - Georgia) with Llyr Williams , Ailish Tynan (soprano- Ireland) with Simon Lepper , and Angela Marambio (soprano - Chile) with Llyr Williams.
The second heat of the BBC Singer of the Wortd opera competition is shown on BBC4 tonight at 7.15pm
