1914-18: Total War

on BBC Two England

Third of a seven-part series documenting the First World War through the words of those who lived through the conflict.

The Great War was the first of its kind, fully involving both soldiers and civilians. The battle between the Turks and the Anzac forces - Australian and New Zealand troops-at Gallipoli in 1915 confirmed that the European conflict had expanded into the first truly world war. Narrated by Judi Dench.
