The naturalist embarks on a personal pilgrimage to Corbett National Park in India, the place where a close friend of his was killed by a tiger. In the search for the elusive big cat, Oddie encounters elephants roaming in the morning mist, monkeys and deer on the lookout for each other, and unusual crocodiles.

In a last ditch attempt to spot a tiger he takes an elephant ride, but how will he react if successful?
