The series that looks at how history has shaped current news stories. As the Labour Party conference comes to a close, journalist Anne McElvoy accuses New Labour of intellectual dishonesty in still maintaining that it has anything in common with its past. Her film is set in her native North East, which is both the heartland of Old Labour and the birthplace, in Tony Blair's Sedgefield constituency, of New Labour, which McElvoy believes is no longer committed to the ideals of the Labour movement.
