For a week or two in spring a dozen footballers become gods to thousands as 'footie fever' grips normally staid Melbourne. Darrell Baldock and Brian Sierakowski are two of these gods: their team has never won a championship, and for the first time in ninety-three years seems to have a chance of attaining the miracle in front of 100,000 screaming supporters.
