Faye Dunaway , Burgess Meredith Rad McDowell returns from the war to his home in Georgia to find his farm threatened with take-over by Riverside, a modern super-farm and canning plant.
Also under threat is the farm of Negroes Rose Scott and her son Reeve. Soon Rad and his black neighbour join forces to fight for their land.
