At twelve noon in Washington, 6.0 p.m. our time, Richard M. Nixon is due to become the thirty-seventh President of the United States. He will have driven with Mrs. Nixon first to the White House and then with President and Mrs. Johnson through the crowds up Pennsylvania Avenue to Capitol Hill. The inauguration ceremony takes place in a vast temporary arena outside the Capitol Building before all the Federal States' dignitaries. First, Spiro T. Agnew is sworn in as Vice-President, then the new President takes the Oath and delivers his Inaugural Address. The Nixon era will have begun.
