Saturday Cinema: 1: The Bride Came C.O.D.

on BBC Two England

Starring James Cagney, Bette Davis, Jack Carson

The first film in this James Cagney double-bill stars Cagney as pilot Steve Collins, who is hired to fly eloping heiress Joan Winfield away with her bandleader boy-friend. He then hits on the idea of saving his failing air charter business by delivering her, unwed, to her angry father, C.O.D. Cagney and Bette Davis both reveal a flair for slapstick comedy in this, their last screen appearance together.
