Jean-Paul Belmondo plays Georges Randal, a compulsive thief who steals as a protest against a society he despises in this delightful turn-of-the-century psychological thriller.
Directed by Louis Malle immediately after Viva Maria, Le Voleur - which never received a commercial release in Britain - also features Canadian actress Genevieve Bujold, the star of Anne of the Thousand Days.
